Online Public Relations Thoughts

Time to rest the keyboard.  I'll not be posting until November. 

The "No Kings" nationwide rallies were apparently massive, but will they help?  Republicans have disparaged them and Trump dismissed them.  The organizers now have a hard job of turning street energy into a coherent political movement.  We should know in the 2026 elections.

This story highlights why science is essential and needs to be funded.  The black hole breaks accepted knowledge of the astronomical phenomenon and opens new questions for scientists to explore.  It is just one more example of the complex universe in which we live and which we might never completely understand.  

His extreme push for law and order is compromising law and order. 

 More power to them.  

President Trump has declared peace in the Middle East, but every expert observer says it is too soon to make that statement.  The 20-point peace plan could fall apart at any time and there are stumbling blocks like the Israeli demand that Hamas give up its weapons, which Hamas has said it won't do.  It would be egg on Trump's face should the conflict break out again.  

How can a president who forges a peace deal in Gaza be so revengeful at home?  His pursuit of James and Comey on flimsy charges is a stain on the Justice Department and the presidency.  One hopes the courts don't let him get away with it. 

Trump threatened to fire federal workers on furlough.  That created a furor.  Now he is threatening to take away their back pay when the government shutdown is over.  One wonders how his approval rating has not sunk lower than it already is.  

Stopped for now but Trump will try again in higher courts to get his way.  

Should he have removed an ICE tracker app from the Apple store?  One can argue both ways - protection of ICE agents or warnings for potential detainees.  This decision is not a clear cut capitulation to the Trump administration.
