An Ending for Hype 

What happens after you have hyped a product beyond its value, and it collapsed in public opinion? Why you sell the company off in a public offering... Huh? That is the rumor surrounding the notorious Segway. The current CEO apparently wants to take the company public to get the cash that allows him to buy equipment to manufacture the product less expensively. But, if no one is buying them anyway...?

The Segway so far is a niche product: It may never be more than a niche product. Lack of responsibility in publicizing the transporter at the beginning may have doomed it.
