Peanuts

The American public is paying historically high gas prices for a war it doesn't like started by a President with sinking polls who natters on about keeping Iran from having a nuclear weapon.  The President's reply to the high gas prices -- And this is peanuts! And I appreciate everybody putting up with it for a little while. It won’t be much longer.

Power

Trump has proven once again that his power lies in the ballot box.  He holds sway over millions of Republicans who adore him and see in him qualities that most can't detect.  He had the independents voting for him the last time as well.  Maybe not this time for the Midterms.  It is too early to make predictions.  However much one hates or despises him, the fact remains that he is a charmer for a sizeable amount of the electorate.

Getting Out

Sometimes the best one can do when a situation is impossible is to leave.  Getting out is honorable and speaks volumes.  That is what this fellow has done quietly without grandstanding, which makes his quitting more powerful.  The Trump administration has much to answer for.

56%

Gas prices have soared 56% since the Iran War started. President Trump doesn't seem to care.  If citizens vote their pocketbooks, he is facing a midterm disaster.

Public Relations

Trump wants to seize the enriched uranium from Iran for public relations.  So he started a war?  That is hardly what anyone would call PR.

Sue, Sue, Sue

Trump might be the leading President targeted by lawsuits.  Here comes another.  On the face of it, one might expect the complainants will have a difficult time proving a land donation is unconstitutional.  Who knows?  The courts have been the only backstop to Trump's freewheeling use of power.

Inching

Senate Republicans are inching to opposition of Trump's Iran war, but even if they succeed, the Republican House won't go along.  Once again, Trump gets free reign to do as he pleases.

3.8%

He started a war he can't seem to finish.  Now, inflation is skyrocketing.  President Trump seems to be in a pickle.

Back And Forth

Negotiations with Iran are going back and forth from Washington to Tehran.  The two sides are apparently far apart in their demands.  Still, that is better than bombing and if successful, Trump can boast that once again he has been a dealmaker, forgetting, of course that he started the war in the first place.

When?

When are companies going to learn to protect themselves from cyberattacks?  This one happened at a critical time and there is nothing universities can do.

Confusion?

When is communication confusing?  President Trump seems to be testing the limit of clarity.

Power

No matter what you feel about President Trump, you have to accept that he still has power over Republican voters.

Risky?

The US Navy has started escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz to break Iran's lockdown of the waterway.  How long will it be doing this and how many seagoing assets will be tied up in the process?  Does the President understand that Iran will be there long after the US leaves, and if not today, then tomorrow, can shut the strait again?  Naval escorts are a temporary answer to a challenge that will only be solved through negotiation. One hopes Trump understands that.

Endurance

This story is a testimony to the endurance of humans in the worst conditions and their ability to continue working as a team.  I've been in a similar circumstance.  It is no fun.

Terminated?

The Trump administration is saying that the ceasefire with Iran terminated the war before the mandated 60-day deadline for seeking Congressional approval.  If so, why is there still a blockade of Iranian ports and a huge naval and military presence?
