Mixed Message
President Biden when he took office said he would handle the refugee crisis differently than former President Trump. It hasn't turned out that way. Instead, the hundreds of thousands crossing the border illegally have Biden using Trump's methods to stanch the flow. Moreover, Democratic mayors are sniping at him because they can't handle the influx of refugees to their cities. It is clear that Biden doesn't know what to do and there might be no good answer. Biden wants to focus on the economy and efforts to rebuild infrastructure, but border crossings keep getting in the way. Presidents don't have complete control of their agenda or their message, and this is another case of it.
